01

Who We Are

Your Style U LLC is a limited liability company incorporated in the State of New York, USA. We operate the Style U booking platform at yourstyleu.com, a two-sided marketplace that connects clients with independent beauty and lifestyle service providers across Jamaica.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, when we disclose it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you when you use Style U.

02

Information We Collect

Account and contact data. When you create or maintain an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, account type, profile photo, and authentication information. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not stored by Style U in readable form. If you sign in with Google, we receive information that Google makes available through its sign-in service, such as your name, email address, and profile picture.

Provider and public profile data. Providers may give us a business name, biography, service category, service descriptions, prices, portfolio images, service area, parish, availability, social media links, and other information used to operate their booking page. Provider profiles, services, availability, portfolio images, reviews, and business information are intended to be publicly visible.

Booking and communication data. We collect appointment details, including the parties to the booking, service, scheduled time, booking status, client notes, cancellations, reminders, and related messages or support requests. Reviews and provider responses may also be displayed publicly unless removed.

Payment and subscription data. We receive transaction identifiers and records such as the amount, currency, payment status, refund status, subscription status, billing period, and limited payment-method details such as card brand and last four digits. Stripe collects the payment details entered on its payment page.

Provider payout data. To send provider earnings, we collect the account holder's name, bank and branch, account type and number, address, parish, and contact telephone number. The full account number is treated as restricted payout information and is not displayed back through the provider dashboard.

Technical and usage data. Our hosting, security, and payment services may automatically collect IP address, browser and device information, pages or features used, timestamps, cookie or session identifiers, and diagnostic or fraud-prevention signals.

03

How We Use Information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts; publish provider listings; create, approve, manage, and document bookings; provide booked parties with the information they need for an appointment; process charges, subscriptions, refunds, commissions, and provider payouts; send service emails and reminders; provide support and resolve disputes; detect fraud or misuse; maintain and improve the platform; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the service you request and perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, with your consent, and for legitimate interests such as platform security, fraud prevention, support, recordkeeping, and service improvement, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your Style U account information for third-party behavioural advertising.

04

When Information Is Shared

Between clients and providers. Provider profile and service information is public. When a booking connects a client and provider, each party can see the booking details needed to manage the appointment. A provider may receive the booked client's name and telephone number for appointment communication. A client's private profile is not otherwise made public.

Service providers. We disclose information to vendors that help us host, secure, authenticate, operate, communicate, process payments, and send payouts for the platform. Their principal roles are listed below.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect users or the platform, investigate fraud, enforce agreements, or complete a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of all or part of the business. Any successor would be required to handle personal information consistently with applicable law.

05

Stripe and Card Data

Stripe processes Style U booking payments, Pro subscriptions, and refunds. Card numbers, security codes, and expiration dates are submitted directly to Stripe through Stripe-hosted payment fields. Style U does not store full card numbers or security codes on its own servers.

Stripe may collect contact, transaction, device, browser, IP-address, cookie, and payment-method information to process and authenticate payments, prevent fraud and loss, comply with law, and operate and improve its services. Stripe may act as both our service provider and an independent controller for certain processing. Learn more in Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Style U retains payment references and transaction metadata needed to reconcile bookings, subscriptions, refunds, disputes, commissions, and payouts. This can include amounts and currencies, dates, statuses, Stripe customer and transaction identifiers, and limited card details returned by Stripe, but not raw card data.

06

Cross-Border Data Transfers

Your Style U LLC is based in the United States and serves users primarily in Jamaica. Information may therefore be processed in the United States and in other countries where our vendors operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws in Jamaica or your place of residence.

We take reasonable steps to use service providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and to handle international transfers in accordance with applicable law. Where consent or another lawful basis is required for a transfer, we will rely on that basis.

07

Cookies and Sessions

We use cookies and browser-based session storage to maintain your authentication state and keep you signed in across sessions. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling technologies.

08

Data Retention

Account and profile information is generally retained while your account is active. If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed, subject to the exceptions below. Public provider content may remain visible until the account or content is removed.

Booking, payment, subscription, refund, payout, tax, fraud, and dispute records may be retained for up to seven years after the relevant transaction or account closure, or longer when required by law, a legal claim, a chargeback, fraud prevention, or an unresolved payout. Support communications and routine server logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose. Residual copies may remain in protected backups until the applicable backup cycle completes. Vendors may keep information under their own legal and retention requirements.

09

Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to be informed about our processing; access or receive a copy of your personal information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion; object to or ask us to restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; or ask that eligible information be transmitted to another controller. You may also ask for information about, or review of, a decision made solely by automated processing. Style U does not currently make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated profiling.

Send requests to support@yourstyleu.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We aim to respond within 30 days where the Jamaica Data Protection Act applies, subject to lawful extensions or exceptions. We will explain if we cannot fulfil all or part of a request. You may also complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner, Jamaica or another competent privacy authority.

10

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include authenticated access controls, restricted access to private profile and payout data, secure transport, and use of established service providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and contact us promptly if you believe your account or personal information has been compromised.

11

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the platform, our vendors, or applicable law. We will post the updated policy here with a revised effective date and provide additional notice when required by law. Where a change requires consent, we will request it rather than treating continued use as consent.
